River Zhang

River Zhang is the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board of PwC China, based in Shanghai.

He has over 30 years of extensive experience, specialised in providing assurance and business advisory services to both multinational and domestic companies operating in China. He also gained international expertise during a two-year tenure at PwC’s Sydney office as part of the firm’s international tour-of-duty program.

Previously, River led the Industrial and Consumer Products business unit, where he focused on industries such as manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and biotechnology. His expertise includes assisting clients in addressing complex accounting, financial reporting, and internal control challenges, ensuring compliance with various financial reporting frameworks, including China Accounting Standards, IFRS, and US GAAP. River has been deeply engaged in capital market transactions, successfully supporting numerous clients in IPO listings across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, and the United States.
