Jia Xu

China Consulting Partner

Xu Jia is partner of PwC Beijing specializing in Advisory services. She focuses on helping pharmaceutical, biotech and medical devices companies in all operational aspects. Xu Jia joined PwC in May 2008 after working for a global healthcare leader as the Head of Global Technical Operation for 8 years in Singapore. She has a wealth of experience in the operational, quality, technical and business aspects of pharmaceutical businesses. Her knowledge of the industry means that she can advice on a range of compliance, operations, supply chain, IT system and risk management issues. 

After joining PwC, Xu Jia has focused on assisting organizations in developing a China strategy. She has led commercial due diligence, growth and capability assessments, execution of change and compliance system review projects (both quality and sales & marketing compliance). Xu Jia is also proficient in project management, including new facility start ups and implementing new business processes and systems.

Xu Jia possesses a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a bachelor degree in Chemistry. She is a board member of ISPE China and in 2008, was elected a member of the executive board of the ISPE Singapore Affiliate.

Relevant project history include: 

  • Assist a European based Pharma company in developing their China business strategy

  • Lead team to perform market and product analysis of a potential acquisition target in China for a world leading pharmaceutical company 

  • Lead team to design and roll out business solution to improve the compliance status in sales and marketing operation in China for a world leading pharmaceutical company

  • Lead change management and communication for a world leading pharmaceutical company to roll out Oracle system and implement a shared financial services solution in China

  • Conduct quality compliance inspection to access the compliance level of its China site for a global ESC company

  • Facilitate one of the world largest Ophthalmologic product company to develop their 5 years development strategy in China The work encompassed specific benchmarking of core business processes with primary competitors, regulatory affairs, marketing, sales organization etc

  • Provide the local industry landscape overview to the world leading medical device company to prepare them for the internal audit on sales and distribution function in China
