Dervis joined the US tax consulting group of PwC China, Shanghai earlier in June 2012. Prior to his deployment to Shanghai, Dervis was in the international tax services group of PwC US, Atlanta and PwC Hong Kong.
Dervis joined the firm in 2000 and has been involved in working with multinational corporations on the international tax issues associated with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition restructuring, divestitures, joint ventures, financing, and intercompany transactions. While in Shanghai and Hong Kong, Dervis works extensively with China and Hong Kong clients and assists them with US and international tax issues arising from the life cycle of investments, including tax due diligence, acquisition structuring, ongoing compliance during the ownership period, and formulating exit strategies. His clients include top-tier banks and insurance companies and private equity funds as well as Chinese and Hong Kong private and public companies investing in the US.
Dervis has also served as an instructor on various US inbound and outbound tax planning topics, including previous speaking engagements with the Council for International Tax Education, ATLAS, International Fiscal Association, and other professional organizations.
Dervis earned his Bachelor’s of Business Administration, Masters in Taxation, as well as Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia, US.
