Hong Kong, 18 June 2026—According to PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management Revolution APAC 2026 report published today, total client assets in the Asia Pacific region are forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3% from US$107.2 trillion in 2024 to US$154.3 trillion by 2030, dominated by the high net worth and mass affluent segments.
The report also estimates that regional assets under management (AuM) will expand to US$34.5 trillion (6.8% CAGR) in five years–outstripping growth in both North America (6.2% CAGR) and Europe (5.6% CAGR)–while the new asset and wealth management (AWM) revenue in the region is expected to reach US$47 billion, bringing the total to nearly US$168 billion by 2030.
Three converging forces–shifting demographics, massive intergenerational wealth transition, and supportive government policies–are creating remarkable opportunities to the AWM organisations across APAC. Furthermore, a distinct realignment in cross-border and intra-regional capital flows is accelerating the growth and strategic importance of premier financial hubs like Hong Kong and Singapore.
Josephine Kwan, AWM Industry Leader, PwC Hong Kong, said: “Despite the rapid growth of client assets in APAC, asset managers currently oversee less than a quarter of institutional and retail client assets, compared to penetration rates of approximately 40% in Europe and 60% in North America. This gap underscores the massive, untapped room for growth ahead. As a leading international financial centre, Hong Kong possesses a highly sophisticated financial ecosystem, a competitive tax regime, and a deep pool of professional talent. PwC Hong Kong is fully committed to helping our clients leverage the city’s unique strengths to capture these emerging opportunities.”
Additionally, the report highlights that APAC is actively driving AWM innovation, from digital assets, robo-advisory, and AI-driven quantitative investment to super-app financial integration and progressive regulatory frameworks for new asset classes. More than seven out of ten institutional investors in APAC (71%) plan to allocate capital to asset managers who proactively develop tech-enhanced products and services.
Peter Brewin, PwC Hong Kong Digital Assets Leader, added: “Hong Kong has established one of the world’s most comprehensive regulatory frameworks for digital assets. The virtual asset exchange licensing regime, the stablecoin framework, and structured tokenised fund product pathways in the city are creating strong foundations for the launch of regulatory compliant digital asset investment products with investor protection built into their core.”
