Heather Wang is a US tax partner of PwC Hong Kong. She has more than 16 years of tax experience. Heather began her career in the New York City office of PwC from 2008 to 2014 before relocating to Asia. Since then, she has been advising clients based in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland on US tax matter.

Heather has extensive experience in US tax due diligence and US tax structuring of mergers and acquisitions and advising on cross border transactions in a variety of industries including life science, high-tech, manufacturing, consumer, and financial services. She has worked with various investment teams and legal counsels advising on significant merger and acquisition and pre-IPO restructuring transactions, including tax-free reorganisations, spin-offs, inversions and outbound transfer rules. In these projects, she has acted as the lead in coordinating global projects.

Heather has advised a large number of private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, and real estate funds on tax issues throughout the life cycle of a fund including fund formation, carried interest structuring, reporting and compliance, profits repatriation planning, and exit planning.

In addition, Heather has advised multinational companies on permanent establishment issues, tax treaty protection, and tax efficient operating model planning. She has also assisted clients in dealing with US Internal Revenue Service, state and local tax audits, federal and state income tax compliance, and tax accounting issues.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Tsinghua University, a Master degree in Accounting from State University of New York at Albany, and a Master degree in Taxation from City University of New York at Baruch College. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York, United States.
