Risk summit was held and aimed to convene leading risk practitioners, academics and thought leaders to share their views, practical methods and successes. We also invited RIMS (the risk management society™, the global not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management) to share their leading practices and insights.
Topics of discussion also included enterprise risk management standards, mega trend and top global risks and local risks, strategic risk management, challenges and barriers, emerging issues, opportunity management as well as innovative and effective practices.
More than 50 people joined the summit and shared their views during discussions and a series of polling questions on strategic planning, risk maturity, risk technics and uncovering emerging risks.
From the polling results, we understand that many companies have started to apply a fully integrated risk management strategy that ties risk management to the strategic planning process, and used a range of risk management technics such as risk assessment, data analytics, horizontal scanning, stress testing and etc. However, in terms of uncovering emerging risks and dynamic risks, these risks such as information technology, cyber security, food safety and sustainability are only "somewhat effectively" managed.
