While there is ever more focus on the importance of gender diversity in the workplace, there is still much that needs to be done. Women's representation on Boards of Directors in Hong Kong lags behind a number of other economies. Hong Kong's gender pay gap is wider than that of Singapore, Australia, the UK and the US. Closing the pay gap and increasing women's participation in the work force would be undoubtedly beneficial for the economy. But, as this report explores, there are a number of preconceptions about gender diversity that need to be tackled before more substantial change can occur.
