Partner, PwC Hong Kong
As part of a global leadership initiative, Sulay (US Asset and Wealth Management Partner) has been transferred to PwC Hong Kong for leading a team dedicated to fund structuring and transaction advisory in the Asia Pacific region. He has over 20 years of extensive experience on tax consulting and risk management in New York, London, Dubai and New Delhi offices. He closely works with our regional Asia Pacific teams to serve key global institutional and asset management clients.
Prior to his move to Hong Kong, Sulay was based out of New York and specialised in structuring global investments and cross border mergers and acquisitions, focusing on large alternative investment clients. He also led the cross border tax consulting practice for real estate clients in US. During his stay in UK office, he advised fund managers and investors on tax issues relating to cross border investments and on developing deal structures, whilst balancing the needs of a diverse pool of investors. Sulay worked for the international acquisition arm of a major financial holding company in the Middle East based out of Dubai, where he had global responsibility for both tax and risk management of the organisation's investments. Besides, he has worked with the Government of India on the design of their VAT system as part of the erstwhile Arthur Andersen’s team in New Delhi, India.
Sulay is a member of the Global Advisory Board of NYU’s SHACK Institute of Real Estate and became a guest lecturer for the graduate programme on taxation of real estate transactions (US and International Tax). He is a regular speaker at international conferences and contributor to technical publications.
