Howard is a Beijing-based tax partner specialising in mergers and acquisition. Howard joined PwC in 1991 and has worked in the US and Taiwan, prior to coming to China in June 1996. In addition to PwC experience, Howard also worked as the China CFO of a Dutch/South African company in media and technology sectors. Howard has master degrees from Rice University (Houston, Texas) in accounting and business administration and holds a CPA certificate in Washington State, the United States.
As part of the China M&A tax team, Howard heads up a team of M&A tax specialists in Beijing, China and has been providing advice to multinational companies on PRC-related tax and business issues, including China entry strategy, JV negotiation, company formation, corporate restructuring and due diligence. Howard is familiar with tax and regulatory issues faced by foreign investors on acquisition, disposition and internal re-organisation of investments in China. In addition to advising foreign companies on PRC issues, Howard is also involved on outbound investment projects of Chinese companies.
Howard has experience advising clients in a wide spectrum of industry sectors, with emphasis in technology and automotive industries. He is currently the China lead engagement tax partner for a number of telecom and technology companies.
