Asia Pacific Tax Leader Financial Services, Asset & Wealth Management, PwC Hong Kong

Florence is PwC’s Asia Pacific Tax Leader of Financial Services, and Asset & Wealth Management. She is also a member of PwC’s Global Financial Services Tax Leadership and on the Board of PwC’s Women Executive Network in Hong Kong. She was appointed as a Hong Kong Justice of the Peace on 1 July 2018.

She is a member of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2013-2019) and is also the Convenor of the FSDC’s New Business Committee. In her roles, Florence has led and contributed to a number of FSDC working groups to issue recommendations on policy and regulatory reforms including those that impact the asset/fund management, banking and insurance sectors.

Florence has extensive experience in advising clients to devise, plan and implement tax efficient holding and operational structures for international, regional, and Mainland China banks; insurance companies; sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, traditional and alternative funds (including hedge, private equity, real estate, venture capital, infrastructure, distressed events); fund managers and investors (sovereign, institutional, fund of funds, family offices and high net worth individuals).

She led the B20 Tax Policy Working Group of the 2016 B20 Financing Growth Taskforce where PwC was the knowledge partner. The Working Group’s recommendations were included in the B20 recommendations to the 2016 G20 hosted by China.

Florence is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Chartered Institute of Taxation (UK), the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, and a registered accountant in Macau.

Florence is a member of the Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of the Alternative Investments Management Association – Hong Kong Branch (AIMA-HK) and also the Chairman of its Tax Subcommittee. She is a member of the Technical Committee of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, and the Honorary President of Advisory Board, Hong Kong Private Equity Finance Association.

Florence graduated from Imperial College, UK, with a degree in Computer Science.
