Actuarial Services Global Leader, PwC Hong Kong
Charles is PwC's Global Actuarial Services Leader and Asia Actuarial Services Leader. This role involves helping the firm to bring the best of its talent to our clients and to ensure that PwC continues to service all of its clients in a consistent and high quality manner. Charles has been with the firm for twenty one years having been based in the UK and Japan. He helped establish our team in Japan and was for a number of years the head of our UK actuarial practice. He is a member of the Chief Expert Group and International Think Tank of the Insurance Association of China.
Charles has held Reviewing Actuary and Lead Actuarial Adviser roles for a number of major UK insurance groups.
He was for many years the leader of PwC’s multi-disciplinary Solvency II team in the UK and has advised clients on both implementation and the strategic issues arising from Solvency II.
He has also led numerous M&A and restructuring assignments internationally.
With the proposed changes to Insurance IFRS reporting, Charles is one of our experts in IFRS4 Phase 2 and is the lead adviser to a multi-national insurer on the potential impact of the new regime.
Charles has acted as a Skilled Person for the UK regulator and is one of PwC's nominated experts for PRA Skilled Person reviews. He is a well recognised senior figure in the market. He is a frequent speaker at internal and external events and has published a number of articles on a wide range of modelling, risk and reporting related topics.
