PwC is proud to present 'I believe' where great people came together to be their best. The team had a great time refining the music, rehearsing and making the music video. The music was produced by PwC Consulting, Experience Centre. The song and lyrics were written by PwC talent Philip Liou and Raymond Gu. The song is performed by a band named Aura V6 which is formed by our PwC young talent: Orange Liu (lead singer), Pavel Shen (bass), Raymond Gu (guitar), Sarah Zhu (keyboard) and William Wei (drums).

I love singing. Singing helps me relax from work and brings me happiness. Music helps to calm and inspire people, just like my job as a consultant. When providing consulting services, we are also helping our clients and influencing them in a positive way. Also, singing helps me build confidence and communicate better with clients and colleagues.

I met my fellow band members during PwC‘s annual dinner . We bonded because of the music video and formed our own band, Aura V6. Having the same interests and being around the same age, we can share everything with each other, from work to life. This experience of striving together for a common goal has helped me become a better team player. The encouragement and support that I have received has made me more determined and certain about what I am doing. I am fortunate to work at PwC where I have found companions who share the same interests and have passion for what we do.

The keyboard player is the person who connects every piece of music in the band. I use the keyboard to bring individual threads of music by different instruments together and assemble it into one complete piece. This process of creative thinking and assembling is similar to my job at PwC. Everyday at work, we face different challenges, and we resolve different problems and situations using creative and tailored solutions, extracting from the right resources.

I joined Aura V6 because I love playing music and it helps to balance my work and life to a great extent. It reminds me of university days, where a group of friends can be very close and share the same interests. A memorable moment was when we changed to a song which no music scores were available during a rehearsal. My band members were quick on their feet and searched for the scores online using their mobile phones. Each phone displayed a page of the scores each to help me get through the practice. It was great to have these creative friends who share these special moments with me.

I love playing the guitar as she always brings me upbeat spirits and positivity. This is just like when I face clients, I always need to remain confident and positive.

To play the guitar well, a deep understanding of music and tones is needed. Patience and persistence is also needed in order to form an emotional connection with music. This patience and persistence are something that I have brought to my professional life where it has benefitted my work.

I enjoy standing on stage, where I can fully express myself and relieve stress all at the same time. I'm fortunate to have met my talented band members at PwC - we have such great times both on and off the stage. We have become very good friends who share the same thoughts about both music and life. We are a group of young people who have dreams and found each other at PwC, and we will continue to explore endless opportunities together.

I like the bass' steady and serene sound. The bass is like a foundation of the whole band and is played with a steady and calm pace. However, the player still needs to keep his passion and excitement. Like my job at PwC, we need be enthusiastic at work while ensuring our minds stays clear and calm when facing challenges.

It was a great surprise when I met my fellow band members at PwC. During university, we often find friends with the same passion for music to play together. However, when I started working, I thought that I might need to give this up because finding time and like-minded friends is difficult. I would never imagine that my music dreams could be realised at PwC. We have a band where we play music together, and now, we can even make a music video together. Moreover, I got to know a Tax manager who has already produced his personal album during this shooting. His story is truly inspiring and encouraging. I realised that I could pursue my music dream as well as my professional career in PwC.

Rhythm is the heart of any piece of music. With steady rhythm from the drum as a foundation, we can create more beautiful music, this is actually similar to auditing at PwC. At work, we need to be steady on our feet, we need to apply our accumulated professional experience and knowledge to help clients to find solutions tailored to their needs.

Playing the drum is how I relax. I make sure I have time to play even during busy work days. I remember on my first day at PwC, a manager named Terry Huang shared with me that he was learning the drums and we were even laughing about the idea of forming a band to perform at the PwC annual dinner. Now, this dream has become true. Not only do we have a band, we've also received support to perform on the stage and make this music video. I'm really glad that I’ve joined PwC because I have found friends who are willing to create and play music together.
