3 February 2010 (Wednesday)
As we leave the period of recession behind us and continue an upward journey in 2010, many companies across the Asia Pacific are seeking to transform their value chains in order to capitalise on new opportunities, as well as create greater efficiencies and generate cost reductions in their supply chains.
We have significant experience in helping companies transform or expand their supply chains. In particular, we have assisted companies identify the key elements of the supply chain that create the greatest value in the business, and transform this value chain utilising centralised supply chain models.
Our specialist Value Chain Transformation (VCT) service team believes the best results from a VCT are only achieved when it is undertaken in an integrated approach by considering the operational / supply chain requirements in the context of the corporate tax, transfer pricing, indirect tax, customs / trade implications. Without this holistic approach to transforming a companies value chain, any significant operational benefits (i.e., cost reductions; greater efficiency or systems simplification) can be undone by unforeseen corporate tax, VAT/GST or customs cost(s). This is particularly the case in the Asia Pacific, which tends to lack a uniformity in the treatment of taxes.
In this webcast, we focused on the following topics to explain why an integrated VCT approach is critical to a successful Asia Pacific restructure:
- What is VCT and how is it an integrated service offering?
- Benefits of an integrated VCT approach - 2 Case studies: (1) Singapore principal model; and (2) Hong Kong procurement centre.
- Why are companies undertaking VCT right now - key drivers?
Our speakers from corporate tax, transfer pricing, customs / trade and business consulting background shared our integrated approach to VCT and also explained how each area of expertise contribute to achieving a successful transformation.
