Stephen joined PwC Hong Kong in 2000 to work in our Global Risk Management Solutions practice. He has 14 years of experience in providing consulting and assurance services within the financial services sector and for 6 years has specialised in internal audit and risk management.
As Head of Internal Audit at Clerical Medical - a leading UK insurance, pensions and investment management company - Stephen was responsible for a team providing a full range of internal audit services to the company. The role required significant liaison with senior management and regular reporting to the audit committee. As well as carrying out control and compliance reviews, Stephen gained experience in a number of additional areas including:
- Expanding the scope of internal audit to encompass high-risk areas usually not covered such as reputational risk, marketing, product development, proactive audit of projects;
- Building the profile of risk management amongst senior management, developing a risk reporting framework and implementing risk and controls self-assessment regimes to comply with best practice corporate governance;
- Investigation of internal and external fraud.
At PwC Hong Kong, Stephen takes a leading role in our Risk Management practice providing a range of internal audit and other risk management services to clients in the financial services and other private and public sectors. Stephen has also played a major role on the provisional liquidation appointment to the HIH companies in Hong Kong.
Stephen is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors. |
