Peter currently leads our Hong Kong profits tax practice as well as the Financial Services tax practice in Hong Kong. He is also our Asia Pacific Banking and Capital Market tax leader. He brings over 20 years of in-house and professional tax experience gained in Hong Kong and the USA. He was previously the Vice President of Morgan Stanley responsible for the group's tax issues for the non-Japan Asia region. In addition, he also worked for the Inland Revenue Department in Hong Kong. Peter was elected as one of the best tax advisors in Hong Kong and China for several years based on the surveys conducted by the International Tax Review, a tax journal published by Euromoney.
Peter has extensive experience in advising on regional tax issues concerning banking, capital market and investment management. He also leads regional and Hong Kong compliance reviews on transaction tax exposures for a number of US and European financial institutions. He was experienced in advising on merger and acquisition of banks and securities houses and performing tax due diligence reviews; representing investments banks in stamp duty audits and advising on stamp duty implications of various financial products.
Peter holds a MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom and a Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
