||Marcel was responsible for initially establishing the PwC Hong Kong Entertainment, Media and Communications group in 1995. Since 1998 he has been the Asia Pacific leader of PwCs Entertainment & Media practice and in 2007 he was appointed the Global Leader. |
From 2001-7 he led PwC’s enlarged Technology, Info-Communications and Entertainment (TICE) practice in Hong Kong and Mainland China comprising of over 1000 professionals. Since 2005, he has been the leader of the TICE practice throughout Asia Pacific and as such represents the interests of the region on PwC’s Global TICE leadership team.
A resident of Hong Kong for more than 24 years, Marcel has extensive experience working with companies in all sectors of the Entertainment and Media industries throughout Asia and the Middle East. In addition to managing large cross border assurance engagements, he also has significant advisory experience providing strategic business advice (specifically in the context of market entry into the regions developing economies), change and process improvement consulting as well as risk management consulting, transaction related services and business planning.
As leader of PwC’s Global Entertainment & Media companies he is a frequent visitor to the major Global media centers and engages regularly with industry leaders at events and other private forums to share experience and best practice.
He has worked with many major local media companies as well as the Asia Pacific operations of multinationals.
Marcel is a regular and well known contributor to regional and Global media and events on issues relating to the development of entertainment, media and the ongoing change resulting from the impact of digital technology.
He is the current elected Chairman of the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (“CASBAA”), the leading industry association promoting the interests of programmers and cable and satellite broadcasters in the region. He has held this role since 2001. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Asia Pacific Alliance for Social Awareness.
In 2010 he was acknowledged by Campaign UK magazine as a member of the Global Power List of executives ‘who shape the worlds of advertising, media and marketing across the globe’.
