The last 12 months have been marked by increased volatility in global markets.  The widespread slowdown mean that assets and businesses in many industries will generate lower cash flows than expected, increasing the likelihood that impairment charges will be required or even may lead to going concern issue.  This newsletter focuses on two major areas of concern in the context of the current economic crisis: impairment of non-financial assets and going concern - taking a look at reassessing going concern assumptions in the current market and identifying circumstances where management may want to make additional disclosures.
