Illustrative Financial Statements for Authorized Institutions in Hong Kong 

     
The 2006 Illustrative Financial Statements for Authorized Institutions is for an authorized institution incorporated in Hong Kong.  The illustrative financial statements are prepared in accordance with the requirements published up to and including November 2006 as set out in:

• The Hong Kong Companies Ordinance;
• The Listing Rules issued by the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited;
• Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards ("HKFRS") issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants up to and including September 2006 that are effective for financial year beginning on or after 1 January 2006; and
• Supervisory Policy Manual entitled 'Financial Disclosure by Locally Incorporated Authorized Institutions" issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

No interpretations, standards or amendments have been early adopted.
 
For institutions who choose to early adopt HKFRS 7 - "Financial Instruments: Disclosures", and the amendment to HKAS 1, "Presentation of Financial Statements - Capital Disclosures", illustrative examples of the disclosures required by this standard and amendment can be found in the PricewaterhouseCoopers publication "International Financial Reporting Standards - Illustrative Consolidated Financial Statements 2006 - Banks".
