David Hoffman is the Managing Director of PricwaterhouseCoopers' Info-Comms Advisory Services ("ICAS") practice in Greater China, based in Beijing. ICAS was specifically formed to provide strategy advice (corporate, service, and investment), and business planning, risk management, and performance improvement solutions to telecommunications operators, information service providers, and new media companies. ICAS also provides advice to regulators and operators on sector development strategy, regulatory policy, and regulatory compliance.
David specialises in assisting telecommunications, Internet, and information technology companies develop and execute corporate, product/service, and marketing strategies in Asia. He is a recognized expert in business planning, partnering, and marketing strategy for new telecoms services - particularly mobile data and fixed broadband services, both for consumers and enterprises. Over the past ten years, he has led a wide range of consulting engagements for fixed and mobile telecoms operators in Greater China.
Most of his consulting career has focused on addressing and resolving clients' strategic and operational issues specific to the Greater China region. He has lived in Greater China for nearly 17 years, and has been active in China's information industry since the late-1986. He previously worked closely with the Taiwan Government on the liberalisation and deregulation of Taiwan's telecom sector in the mid-90's.
In 2003, David was elected Chairman of USITO Telecom Policy Committee, the leading industry association in China promoting trade and cooperation between the Information Technology industries of the United States and China.
David is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. David has a degree in Chinese studies and economics from the University of Southern California. |
