This report explores the insights of 1,124 CEOs around the world.  We look specifically at what the 130 CEOs in the consumer goods industry think and analysed how they are dealing with a combination of challenges such as mankind has never seen before from three main perspectives, i.e. business environment, balancing short-term and long-term concerns and looking forward.
     
Some key findings from our survey are:

  • Only 27% of the consumer goods CEOs are very confident about boosting their companies' revenues over the next 12 months;
  • 93% of the consumer goods CEOs see efficient sourcing and supply chain management important or critical;
  • Consumer goods CEOs are concerned about the impact of global and systemic risks on the long-term success of their businesses, one of their key concerns is non-renewable energy;
  • 62% of the consumer goods CEOs say that they have problems recruiting and integrating younger employees;
  • Many consumer goods CEOs see room for improvement in collaboration with government to achieve regulatory stability; and
  • The ability of the consumer goods CEOs to contend with immediate problems while taking into account long-term, systemic risks is fundamental to staying competitive.
