||Amy is a corporate tax partner in PwC China based in Shanghai. She started her professional career in the United States before her relocation to Shanghai in 1998. She mainly assists multinational companies and governmental organisations to structure their investments and manage their projects in China. She is very experienced in helping clients with practical issues such as assessing contractual arrangements, meeting various local regulatory measures, managing cash flow under the tight foreign exchange control environment, and other Chinese tax and regulatory related matters. |
Amy has helped numerous clients with the design of their overall entry strategy together with the development of feasible and tax efficient operating models in China. Amy also completed a secondment in the International Tax Services group in PwC San Jose between 2000 - 2002, assisting major US clients in designing and implementing global tax and operation strategies.
Amy maintains frequent contacts with the senior officials at the Ministry of Commerce, State Administration of Taxation, State Administration of Foreign Exchange and the local tax bureaus. She is the author of various articles on tax planning and is a speaker on China tax in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and the United States.
Amy is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Pennsylvania.
In the automotive sector, Amy has advised various well-known OEMs as well as Tier 1 suppliers in their cross-border investment issues. Her client base includes industry-leading companies. She has directed studies that have involved M&A due diligence and post deal integration. She has also led projects on cash repatriation, tax restructuring, audit defense negotiation, foreign exchange remittance and new entry strategies.
