Hong Kong, 1 Mar 2017 - “PwC X-Venturer”, an Innovative Leadership Programme for graduates designed to cultivate innovative mindsets and leadership capabilities through a tailored programme of experience and training curriculum, has been launched in Mainland China and Hong Kong. As the first programme of its kind within the accounting industry, PwC has recruited 76 graduates who have already enrolled in the programme since October 2016.
Leveraging the power of the firm, the programme focuses on providing broad experiences by engaging the participants of PwC X-Venturer on projects across different lines of service and industries during their first two years at PwC. They will also participate in business and technical training together with their peers as well as take part in innovation projects to help foster innovative mindsets and the ability to solve important problems from different perspectives.
At the end of the two years, they can choose to either focus on developing deep technical skills in a chosen field or continue with the differentiated experience. For graduates, the programme offers the flexibility to shape their career path with broad experiences within the firm compared with the structured path to become technical or industry specialists.
“It is increasingly important for PwC to embrace innovation and technology to drive new businesses and transform our workforce model. People are our greatest assets and key to delivering the firm’s capabilities to clients. PwC X-Venturer’s tailored training curriculum enables professionals to solve our clients’ biggest challenges in an innovative way, and eventually drive new business growth,” said Samie Wan, PwC X-Venturer Programme Leader.
PwC offers a range of programmes to suit different student groups including the professional development curriculum to train graduates in preferred technical areas.
PwC X-Venturer is a key part of these student programmes in an effort to widen the talent pool and build a resilient workforce. The recruitment model casts a wide net to students beyond the traditional business and accounting disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) backgrounds.
“We empower our next generation of talent to lead innovation and change within PwC and in society, through attracting students with diverse skills and offering them an enriched experience. PwC X-Venturer demonstrates our commitment to developing graduates to be the best at what they do, offer varied career paths and unlock their value and creativity with clients and community at large,” said Elton Yeung, PwC China & Hong Kong Strategy and One Firm Services Leader.
